With a mission to protect and advance the interests of our members, SBCA is the voice of the structural building components industry to legislative, regulatory and standards-generating agencies. SBCA formulates policies concerning the operations of component manufacturers.
Building Codes & Standards
As a national member-driven association, SBCA is intimately involved with local, state, and national building codes to ensure they are written, and implemented favorably, so not to negatively impact SBCA members.
SBCA desires to promote the safe, economic, and structurally sound use of structural building components. Through this, SBCA is committed to providing the construction industry and fire service with accurate information regarding the use of metal plate connected wood trusses.
Investing in a standardized, comprehensive safety program minimizes the risks faced by both your employees and your company. SBCA’s customizable template materials, developed specifically for the component industry, can help you implement a consistent, measurable safety program.
Component manufacturers who dedicate time and effort into developing a systematic, ongoing process for outreach and recruitment insist it’s more than worth the investment! While there isn’t one right way to find, assess, and grow new talent, read about approaches to workforce development.
Quality Control Programs
SBCA offers quality control programs to help manufacturers monitor the quality of their wall panels and provides the plant with a data management system. The program consists of inspections and the data is entered into the software program, allowing you to create reports to assess quality.
