At IBS 2019, MiTek had the opportunity to reinforce the value of the component manufacturer in creating the structural framing in a 3D model within SAPPHIRE.

Many players in the supply chain have expressed the need to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the collaboration process between this group.  It is our belief that the common 3D structural model created by the component manufacturers in SAPPHIRE is a powerful starting point for this collaboration. We also have seen that the collaboration is further enhanced through the use of the common suite of SAPPHIRE technology from MiTek, which helps to identify collisions, gaps, and other specific opportunities for design improvements.

We were able to speak with Hanley Wood in response to their questions about the modeling technology. In doing that we reinforced how it could be used to help close the gaps in the design and estimating processes, and bring better accuracy and efficiency to the building industry.  We were very pleased at the growing interest overall in the value of prefabrication, and the SAPPHIRE technology that supports the design, estimating and collaboration through the channel.

The following video is a recap of that conversation.
