‘Ask the Builder’ Brings in 30% of Website Traffic

The partnership between SBCA and Ask the Builder founder Tim Carter has been a perfect opportunity to share the advantages of structural framing with the market. The timing couldn’t have been more ideal as SBCA’s Best Way to Frame website (www.bestwaytoframe.com) was just taking off and proved to be a great resource for Tim to direct his significant followership to learn more about components.

Since Tim started promoting components in mid-December he’s driven over 1,200 visitors to the website through his newsletter and syndicated column. In that same timeframe there were 4,400 new users to the website meaning that Tim’s campaigns drew almost 30% of total new visitors to the website. Considering he has over 45,000 newsletter subscribers and has supported structural framing in his column that’s runs in more than 60 papers in the U.S., that’s a lot of reach through a single source and component advocate.

To make the most of this partnership SBCA created a landing page for Tim’s visitors to explain his connection with SBCA, while giving people an introduction to why roof trusses, wall panels and floor trusses are the best way to frame a building. The main focus of the page is the comparison video from SBCA’s Framing the American Dream (FAD) study. The page gives some background on the study and then directs visitors to learn more about the benefits of working with components.

Tim’s history in the building industry and name recognition through his popular column, gives him a credible and knowledgeable perspective as he shares why components are the best way to frame with his audience. Continue to follow this partnership as Tim will be posting and sharing more videos and content that will benefit the component manufacturing industry.
