Industry Loses Lakeside Trailer Founder, JD Helton

Lakeside Trailer founder, Jesse D Helton, passed away at home on February 10, 2019. Known as JD, he started the company with his daughter, Regina Helton Kinsman, and son-in-law, Lee Kinsman.

Jesse Donald Helton, of Crocker, Missouri, was born on June 24, 1938, in Hancock, Missouri, a son of Guy and Lena (Barnett) Helton and departed this life at 1:50 p.m., Sunday, February 10, 2019 in his home. Mr. Helton had attained the age of 80 years, 7 months and 17 days.
Mr. Helton worked as a construction contractor for many years. He later, in partnership with his wife and daughter, Regina and son, Glen opened two factories in the building industry. He held several patents for components of unique trailers designed for hauling roof trusses. His passion and hobby in retirement was restoring Dodge trucks.
Mr. Helton was united in marriage to Sheila Kathleen Malone on June 23rd, 1956. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Virgil Helton, Alfred Helton and Gerald Helton, his fraternal twin.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Helton include: his wife Sheila of the home in Crocker and three children and their spouses; Dwayne Helton and Merrie Miller of Cedar Hill, Mo., Regina Helton-Kinsman and Lee Kinsman of Crocker and Glen Helton and Kimberly Uherka-Helton of Roach, Mo.; one sister, Elsie Whittle of Crocker, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
