British Columbia has adopted the 2018 version of the British Columbia Building Code. The new version of the code, which goes into effect on December 10, 2018, is for building permits issued after that date. This code is based upon Canada’s National Codes. The energy efficiency standard references the latest version of ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2016, Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings as well as the National Energy Code for Buildings 2015.
