Capital Area & Texas Chapters Raise $40K for BCMC Build

Once again, the Structural Building Components Association of the Capital Area (SBCACap) and the Truss Manufacturers Association of Texas (TMAT) showed incredible generosity and dedication as they hosted golf events to benefit Operation Finally Home (OFH) and the BCMC Build, which will be framing a mortgage-free home for a wounded veteran in Knoxville, TN, this year. Together, these two chapters raised over $40,000 (net) to benefit this charitable industry endeavor.

TMAT hosted a golf outing at the River Crossings golf course in Spring Branch, TX on April 21, 2016.  Over 70 participants enjoyed a full day of good weather, good friends and friendly competition all in the name of a worthwhile cause. Pictured here are first place winners Mike Abell of D.R. Horton (left) and Lloyd Loredo of Loredo Truss Company, Inc. (right). TMAT continues to show that everything is bigger in Texas, including their hearts! In total, the TMAT golf tournament raised $20,905 (net).

For the third year running, the SBCACap golf tournament was held at the Gunston golf course at Fort Belvoir, VA on May 3, 2016. They had 62 participants, including OFH founder Dan Wallrath (photo, in black), with strong support from their builder customers. A huge thanks goes out to Gene Frogale (photo, in blue) and Rhonda Leppert from Annandale Millwork and Allied Systems for all their efforts to put the day’s events together and ensure it was a great success! In total, the SBCACap event raised $20,189 (net). Also pictured are Doug Smith of Soil Consultants Engineering (in yellow) and Jim Laychak of George Mason University (in white).
