FrameSAFE Version 2 Now Available

The National Framers Council Safety Committee is pleased to announce that version 2 of the FrameSAFE Safety Program is complete and has been rolled out to subscribers for immediate use. The new manual includes four new modules covering Proper Use of Extension Cords, Avoiding Electric Shock, Horizontal Lifelines and Rescue Planning.

In addition to the updated manual, the program also includes a revised Orientation Checklist and Site-Specific Fall Protection Plan Template, five new Toolbox Talks and three new AHA templates.

FrameSAFE has made great strides since it's original release last spring, with more than 50 framers and subcontractors using the program across the country. As this bilingual, OSHA-compliant safety program is being implemented, the feedback has been very positive.

When asked what he likes most about the program Frank Mudd, COO of Southernwood Framing LLC in La Plata, MD, had a simple response: “The ease of understanding.” He explained that many off-the-shelf programs cover a wide range of topics and even other industries. “Having a program like FrameSAFE really gives carpenters the sense that something was designed specifically for them,” he said. “We feel like the program is very well put together and implementing it was an easy process.”
