HANOVER, PA – Ox Engineered Products, a division of Ox Paperboard has entered into an exclusive licensing agreement with The Dow Chemical Company to manufacture, market, and sell STYROFOAM SIS Brand Structural Insulated Sheathing. Dow will continue to support the STYROFOAM SIS trade name and brand as part of their overall portfolio of insulation solutions, and Ox Engineered Products will market and sell this technology under the STYROFOAM SIS brand name.
“We are excited to partner with Dow Chemical on this unique product and include it in our building products offering to customers,” said Ox President Kevin Hayward. “Our Thermo Ply Brand structural sheathing is one of the most well-known recycled sheathing products on the market and this partnership with Dow to produce and sell Styrofoam SIS will greatly enhance our customer base and geographic reach.”
STYROFOAM SIS™ Brand Structural Insulated Sheathing is a three-in-one construction solution that provides insulation, a water-resistive barrier and structural support properties. It is designed for use as braced wall panels attached next to other rigid insulated sheathing and can also serve as continuous structural insulated sheathing over the entire structural insulated wall line.
The first structural insulated sheathing to achieve significant R-values (R-3.0 at 0.5"; R-5.5 at 1"), STYROFOAM SIS™ Brand Structural Insulated Sheathing helps builders and designers to conform to 2012 Energy Code standards and eliminates the need for wood structural panels and house wrap, wood let-in bracing or metal T-bracing. In addition, this sheathing helps lower the installation cost because it allows the builder to install structural support, insulation and a water resistive barrier with fewer trips around the house.
