Dear Component Manufacturers:
I would like to personally invite you to attend the MSR Lumber Producers Council’s MSR Workshop April 27-29 in Minneapolis, MN. In addition to the relationship building this event provides, and the tour of Littfin Truss (one of the largest component manufacturers in the Midwest) on Thursday April 28, we are planning a number of educational presentations on topics we think are especially valuable to component manufacturers.
The MSRLPC is pleased to welcome SBCA’s inaugural CM Executive Leadership Summit to the MSR Workshop schedule, as we believe it will give component manufacturers the chance to focus on a number of important topics on the last day of the MSR Workshop. While the component manufacturers are participating in the summit, Friday’s MSR Workshop sessions will be more targeted toward MSR lumber industry participants.
Begun in 1995, the MSR Workshop brings together members of the entire lumber supply chain, from production and grading to sales and distribution to end users, and offers a unique opportunity for participants to directly network and gain a broader perspective on the MSR market and opportunities for growth.
On Thursday, we will get an insider’s perspective on the current status of the Softwood Lumber Agreement (SLA) between the US and Canada. This will be a unique chance to hear the latest timetable for an agreement, along with the issues that remain to be negotiated. In addition, we will have an expert provide a beginners guide to lumber futures, along with a session providing three different perspectives on recent mill consolidation and its impact on species mix and overall supply.
Based on the feedback we received from last year’s event, we know the MSR Workshop offers a great return on investment. With the addition of the CM Executive Leadership Summit on Friday we believe this will give you even more reason to make the trip and we hope you will strongly consider joining us in Minneapolis this April.
